Volunteer Job Opportunities

We are a friendly environment of talented arts professionals, seeking equally talented, enthusiastic, and reliable administrative support for our 11th season and beyond. The positions below are pro-bono/volunteer opportunities, with possible salary opportunities as organization and budget grow, as well as free admission to COPA events and performances, along with other perks.  A great experience and a valuable asset on any resume, especially for emerging professionals.

Marketing Coordinator
5-20 hours a month / 1-4 projects a year

Requires frequent e-mail/phone contact with General Director and Volunteer Coordinator, but all work is done independently and in own home. 1-4 projects a year, in conjunction with events and season performances.

Seeking Volunteer with:

  • Ability to create and place ads within tight budget
  • Creative market strategizing, and ability to attract new audiences
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia area, publications, and advertising opportunities

Preferred, but not necessary:

  • Experience with ad layout/design
  • Arts background or experience with non-profit arts organizations.

Development Coordinator
Main time commitment involves administrative
duties - approximately 5 hours

per event. (1-4 a year)  However, we are mainly searching for great fundraising ideas and new ways of attracting donors.  This aspect varies from month to month and the time commitment can be regulated at Development Coordinator's discretion.

Duties

  • Keeping track of monetary and in-kind donations and donors.
  • Following up with thank-you letters to donors.
  • Coming up with fundraising ideas and new donor programs and options.

Seeking Volunteer with:

  • Reliability
  • Great organizational skills
  • Creativity
  • Some development, marketing, or public relations experience.

Preferred, but not necessary:

  • Experience with ad layout/design
  • Arts background or experience with non-profit arts organizations.

Office Assistant
1-2 hours weekly
Assistance with simple office tasks such as filing and mailings. Arts background or experience with non-profit arts organizations preferred, but not required.

Correspondence Secretary
4-6 hrs monthly
Assistance with both mail and e-mail correspondence, answering general questions, organizing letters and mailings, and other similar duties.  Seeking Volunteer with excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as ability to handle inquiries in a professional and timely manner.  Arts background or experience with non-profit arts organizations preferred, but not required.
